DS1EDIT.EXE & WIN_DS1EDIT.EXE
ALREADY DONE List
- general options
- WYSIWYG editor ! (display Tiles like in the game)
- direct reading of DT1 / TXT / Palettes... from either the MPQ files or from a Mod Directory (like -direct method)
- 2 working modes : Tile / Objects (Paths in progress)
- can always view Objects & Paths, whichever the Mode
- objects view by name or by Type-Id
- easy-to-use display of objects & paths (no tables)
- no last sub-path of a path is missing (no bug
) - user options in .ini
- screenshots
- zooms / scrolls
- gamma correction
- incremental save (fortress.ds1 will be saved fortress-000.ds1, then fortress-001.ds1, ...)
- quicker starting after 1st time it was launched
- multiple DS1 loading, by a list-file
- copy / paste between different ds1 work, but the result depend of their DT1 list (same list = ok, different = most likely to have problems)
- 'Shadows' layer edition is implemented
- walkable infos preview, 2 mode : simple or very accurate
- 'Night preview' mode : see the level in darkness, like the Den of Evil. Not as good as the game, but that gives an idea.
- Tiles Editing mode
- multiple select / deselect
- copy / delete (real-time preview before paste)
- hide / show selection
- layers display toggle
- edit 1 cell (multiple layers at a time) : view all the available tiles of the map
- multiple Undo
- Objects Editing mode
- objects split into the Object itself and a 'Label'
- multiple select / deselect, either objects or labels
- insert 1 object
- move the selection
- 1st path always attached to its object when moving (avoid crash when testing the map)
- copy / delete the selection (only objects)
- undo (but only 1 step)
- can select NPC from other acts
TO DO List - paths editing
- ini option : put cursor in screenhsots Y / N
- auto-save (10 min default)
- reduce memory usage (none / small & quick / large & slow ) ---> transparent line dt1 check
- resize, create from scratch, add / del layers
- change drawing priority (prop1) (multiple tiles at once)
- copy from 1 layer to another (on the same map)
- "view same random" button to make works in the Tile edit window
- filter the tile edit list with 32 buttons max (1 for each dt1 of the map)
- minimap (like warcraft / starcraft, etc). Toggleable (² key, near the Tab)
- load / close x ds1 at run-time
- display animated floor (easy in fact). Put it as an .ini option
Recquire advanced coding skill (LOT harder, maybe another prog ? Or ... maybe never - display real objects / monsters (Dcc, ouch. Just the 1st frame will be an exploit)
- lvl*.txt modification (ouch)
- change (& listen) area music (easy to listen, not to edit the .txt)
- hexediting (like Isilveo prop1 to prop4, and so on)
- few ds1 problem (slightly different format)
- light preview (global *may* be easy, player light radius (mouse) lot harder)
- workspace files (list of ds1. can save the state of selection too in another files)
- make a sort of "precompiled" worspace : save all your work in a big-but-decoded personal file, then next time you load it, the loading should be as fast as light.
- take a nap, zzzzzzzz
